About Nim Stones
Nim Stones is one of the oldest strategy games in the world. Three piles of stones sit on the table. On your turn you remove as many stones as you like, but only from a single pile. Then the computer does the same. The player who takes the very last stone wins.
The rules take ten seconds to learn, yet the game hides a neat mathematical secret, and working out why certain positions are winning is very satisfying. The computer knows the secret but does not always use it, so careful play is rewarded.
