Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Html5games collects, why, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Html5games, who is responsible for the information described here. You can reach us through the contact form.
Information we collect
- Account details. If you create an account we store your username, email address, display name and a one-way hash of your password. We never store your password itself.
- Activity linked to your account. When you are signed in we store the games you favorite, the ratings you give and a history of the games you launch, so we can show them back to you.
- Messages you send. Contact form messages include the name, email address and text you provide. Problem reports include your text, an optional email address and your browser's user-agent string.
- Abuse prevention. To limit spam and repeated sign-in attempts we use your IP address briefly and store only a keyed hash of it, not the address itself.
- Aggregate statistics. We count page views and game launches per day. These counters contain no identifiers and are not linked to individual visitors.
You can browse and play without an account. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and browser storage
- Session cookie (
gp_session): set when you sign in or submit a form. It keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. It is essential and expires after a period of inactivity. - Local storage in your browser remembers your theme, your privacy choices and the list of games you recently played on this device. This information stays in your browser.
Advertising
When advertising is active on this site, we use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or learn about other vendors' choices at aboutads.info. You can change your choice on this site at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer. More about how Google uses information from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
Our own visit counter stores daily totals only and uses no cookies. If Google Analytics is switched on for this site, it runs in Google's consent mode: it sets no analytics cookies unless you allow measurement in “Cookie settings”. Google receives technical information such as pages viewed, device type and a shortened IP address, and handles it under Google's Privacy Policy.
Games from other providers
Games made for this site are served from our own server and receive no personal information. If a game is loaded from its publisher's servers inside a frame on the game page, that provider receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you start the game, and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. The provider is named on each game page.
How long we keep information
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Contact messages and problem reports are deleted after 24 months at the latest. Play events that are not linked to an account are deleted after 13 months. Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period (normally no longer than 30 days) to keep the service secure.
Your choices and rights
You can update your details, clear your play history, or permanently delete your account and its data from your profile. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights, such as access to, correction of or deletion of your data, or the right to object to certain uses. To use them, write to us through the contact form and we will answer within a reasonable time.
Children
Html5games is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. Playing does not require any personal information. Accounts are for people aged 13 or over (or the minimum age of digital consent in their country, if higher), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from younger children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and the new version applies from the day it is posted here.
