Golf Solitaire

Golf Solitaire is a quick patience game where the rules are simple and the planning is not. Thirty-five cards are dealt face up into seven columns, with one card on the pile below and sixteen in the stock.

You may move the bottom card of any column onto the pile if it is one rank higher or lower than the card showing there. Suits are ignored, and in this version Kings and Aces count as neighbours, so a run can go round the corner. When nothing fits, turn a card from the stock. Playable cards are outlined in yellow. Because all the cards are visible, look for long runs before you start one. The game ends when the columns are empty, which is a win, or when the stock has gone and nothing can be played. Clearing every card is uncommon, so the usual aim is to leave as few as possible.

Move cards from the columns to the pile, one rank up or down each time. Your score is the number of cards cleared out of 35.
