Titus glanced at his watch, then stood up and said to Lennox, “Uncle Lennox, I just came to check on your progress with the move. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head back now.”
Jennifer stood up as well.
Lennox and the others quickly got up to see them off, personally escorting Titus and Jennifer out of the main house. They didn’t return inside until they had watched Titus and Jennifer get into the car and drive away out of sight.
Once they were seated again, Lennox put on a stern expression and said seriously to his children and grandchildren, “Listen to me carefully. No matter how much you hate Titus deep down, you must show him and Jennifer the proper respect from now on.”
Renata was the first to object. “Grandpa, I’m not convinced! I refuse to accept this!”
“So what? Can your resentment and dissatisfaction change anything? He’s now the head of the Labbe family. All the family elites answer to him. If you dare to disrespect him, he’ll punish you according to the family rules.”
“He won’t show us any mercy. He only demanded that you apologize in public because of the resentful look you gave Jennifer. If you refuse to back down, you’ll give him a reason to take action against us.”
