“Ring, ring, ring…”
Hendrix’s phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and said to Avah, “It’s Brother Titus. He saw your Moments, right? He’s probably calling to complain that I knitted the sweater before he did.”
Avah smiled. “Then go over there and answer my brother’s call. I’ll be busy for a while.”
“Good.”
Hendrix walked over to the sofa in the reception area, sat down, and answered Titus’s call.
Avah couldn’t hear what Titus said, nor was she curious. She needed to finish her work first.
She would try to find some time over the next couple of days to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with Hendrix and get their marriage certificate.
