Hearing this, Hendrix grinned. “Okay. I’m ready to get our marriage certificate anytime. In fact, I’ve been preparing for it every day since we came of age.”
As he spoke, he pulled out his ID card and household registration booklet.
“Look. I even carry my household registration booklet with me at all times.”
Nowadays, a household registration booklet wasn’t necessarily required to obtain a marriage certificate, but Hendrix had gotten so used to carrying his that he still kept it with him.
