Alex watched Aitana until she completely disappeared from sight, then finally looked away.
Uncle Pollock and his wife pretended not to notice.
The three chatted a little longer before Alex excused himself and left.
“I can tell Alex really cares about our Aitana. Why hasn’t he confessed yet?” Aunt Pollock sighed anxiously. She looked like she was one second away from confessing on his behalf.
Uncle Pollock shook his head. “They haven’t known each other long. Alex probably thinks Aitana doesn’t trust him enough yet. If he rushes things, he’ll end up like Joaquin.”
He chuckled faintly. “Alex is smart — creating ‘coincidences’ every single day, showing up wherever she goes, gradually weaving himself into her life. He’s slow-cooking it — eventually Aitana will fall for him.”
“Honestly, based on your analysis, Alex really is better for Aitana,” he continued. “And our family has enough standing to marry into the York family. Aitana is a good match for him.”
