Both of the York family’s elders—especially the old lady—were known for being playful. Belle adored her great-grandmother.
Partly, it was because she spent so much time with her, and partly because the old lady was still young at heart—almost childlike in spirit.
Everywhere the old lady went, Belle went too.
The old lady also loved to let Belle try different foods, as long as they were suitable for her. Unlike Serenity and Zachary, who were stricter about Belle’s diet, the old lady indulged her.
“Grandma, don’t rush me!” Alex said between bites, speeding up anyway.
He looked at her and teased, “You’re getting on in years, but your teeth are still amazing. You eat faster than I do!”
She chuckled. “That’s because the breakfast you made is soft and easy to digest. Of course I eat fast!”
