Traffic Control

Traffic Control puts you in charge of a single busy junction. Cars arrive on two roads, one running left to right and one from top to bottom, and only one road can have a green light. A tap switches which one it is.

Switching is not instant: for about a second both roads are held on amber while the junction clears, and nothing moves. Switch too often and you waste time; switch too rarely and one queue grows out of control. Traffic gets heavier as the minutes pass. The bars at the bottom show each queue, and the game ends when either one reaches nine cars.

Switch the lights to keep both queues below nine cars. Your score is the number of cars that get through.
