Jane closed the ledger she was holding and said, “These ledgers are done so well. Anyone who knows accounting can spot the problem at a glance, while someone who doesn’t understand accounting would think they’re incredibly thorough.”
Serenity said, “That’s right. There’s definitely something wrong with these accounts. Titus did the right thing by checking the accounts first, whether they’re the family’s internal accounts or the company’s accounts.”
“It’s not about deliberately finding fault with his enemies. It’s about having a clear understanding of their situation.”
Lilian said, “That’s right. Titus understands.”
She flipped through the ledgers again. “How long will it take him to finish reviewing all of these?”
“He said to let Jennifer look through them. These account books belong to the villa of the Labbe family patriarch. Jennifer is sensitive to numbers, and she’ll be the patriarch’s wife in the future, so she needs to understand these things. She’ll be the one reviewing the accounts from now on.”
