Well, all he had left now was old tea. He had already sold all the good tea for money.
After leaving the hall, Lonbin took out his phone and called Lennox as he walked.
Timothy shouldn’t be home. Lennox had retired, so he should be at home. Titus had just said that he came from the old house, which meant Lennox was there.
When Lennox answered, Lonbin lowered his voice and pleaded, “Sir, help! The patriarch suddenly came to the villa and wants to check the accounts. This year’s new tea… is gone. The patriarch wants to find out where it went.”
Lennox frowned. “Titus went to the villa, but why did he suddenly decide to check the accounts, and why specifically the whereabouts of the new tea? Did you sell all of it? You could’ve sold a pound or two, but how could you sell everything?”
Lonbin’s face reddened slightly. He said in a low voice, “Patriarch—oh, I mean, Atuo took most of it. I thought no one would drink the rest, so I sold it. I was a little short of money to buy a car at the time.”
“You’re short of money to buy a car? Stop making excuses. I’ve told you before—never take everything. Always leave a little.” Lennox cursed him. “Look what’s happened now. You’re about to fall into Titus’s hands. With everything happening so suddenly, you don’t even have time to falsify the accounts.”
