“Yes, I want to go back and see them. Is Dad not feeling well?” Mrs. Francoeur asked with concern. “Dad, what’s wrong? Should you see a doctor? I’ll call the family doctor to come over.”
She followed her father-in-law into the house and casually placed the gifts she’d prepared for her parents on the coffee table. Old Mr. Francoeur glanced at them and saw that they were all nutritional supplements—ginseng, bird’s nest, and the like.
The Jacques family didn’t need to buy these supplements themselves. Whenever they ran out, they simply called their daughter-in-law, and she would happily send more back to her parents’ home.
If it were simply about showing filial respect to one’s parents, Old Mr. Francoeur had no objection. It was perfectly normal for children to be filial to their parents.
