Inside the house, the two men chatted casually while, outside, Jennifer accompanied Serenity and the others for a walk.
Jane asked Jennifer, “Titus officially took over the Labbe Group today. Did everything go smoothly?”
Jennifer nodded. “Everything went very smoothly. Ever since arriving in Havenmill, the young master has paid close attention to the Labbe Group and has become thoroughly familiar with all of its businesses. Taking over the company wasn’t a problem for him at all.
“Timothy did try to make things difficult. He attempted to use one of the company’s major clients to pressure the young master, but the situation was resolved almost immediately, and the client didn’t dare say another word.”
Jane let out a relieved smile. “That’s good. We trust him. But if he ever runs into trouble, Jennifer, you have to let us know. Sometimes Titus is too reluctant to ask us for help.”
As the oldest among the children, Titus had grown up without his biological parents or siblings, which made him fiercely independent. Aside from matters of the heart, he rarely sought help from anyone.
Jane often felt sorry for her adopted son.
