In a lowered voice, Secretary Tia said, “You heard correctly, Mr. Deng. Our company still has a President Labbe, but it’s not the President Labbe you’ve been dealing with.”
“Oh, really? So your former President Labbe isn’t running the company anymore?”
Keeping his voice low, Mr. Deng asked, “Is Landen Young-Johnson, the CEO of Lonen Group, really taking over your company? Can he handle it?
“Lonen Group is in the same industry, so he should understand the business. But he just took over. Will people really follow him?”
He continued, “The person I’ve been negotiating with is President Timothy, not President Landen. What am I supposed to discuss with Landen? What does he know about this project?”
It was obvious that Mr. Deng didn’t think highly of Titus or believe he could successfully close the deal. In fact, he was already considering making things difficult for him.
The main reason was simple—he had built a good relationship with Timothy, who always treated him generously and spared no expense entertaining him.
