Titus quickly explained, “Master, I never stopped Jennifer from using skincare products. I bought plenty for her, but she refused to accept them. I practically forced them on her, and I’m not even sure she uses them.”
Jennifer added, “Master, the young master has never been stingy with me. I have my own income, and the salary he gives me every month is more than enough. I can buy skincare products myself. Besides, I don’t even need to buy them. I make my own whenever I have free time, and Second Aunt sends me some every now and then.”
Jennifer truly lacked nothing, so she felt there was no reason for the young master to spend money on her.
Whenever Titus insisted on giving her gifts, she would refuse them. Eventually, he noticed and stopped sending them altogether so he wouldn’t waste his money.
Lilian linked arms with Jennifer affectionately as they walked.
Although Jennifer had never officially become her disciple, she had called Lilian “Master” for eighteen years, and Lilian had long since considered her one of her own disciples.
“If Titus gives you something, why wouldn’t you accept it?” Lilian scolded lightly. “Titus doesn’t even have a girlfriend. You’re the one taking care of him every day, so of course he should treat you well. Don’t feel guilty about it. What belongs to him is yours, and what belongs to you is still yours. From now on, if he gives you something, just take it and use it.”
