Chapter 5350
They couldn’t overlook Hank’s wrongdoing simply because Jessica had done worse.
He felt guilty toward Liberty and her child, and toward Jessica and the child she had once carried. Liberty wanted nothing from him—no apology, no compensation. The only person he could make it up to was Jessica. That was why, all these years, he had refused to divorce her and had waited for her release.
But Chelsea’s hatred for Jessica burned deep. In her eyes, Jessica was the woman who had nearly killed both her and Hank. Hank, weighed down by guilt, could choose forgiveness—but Chelsea never would.
Whenever the two women crossed paths, their hostility was immediate. They exchanged cold stares, neither willing to soften even slightly. Chelsea continued her привыч habitual attacks, badmouthing Jessica in front of their parents and Hank just as she always had.
This time, though, Hank didn’t listen.
Jessica, for her part, wanted nothing more than a quiet life. Thanks to Hank, her stepson provided her with a monthly allowance. Hank himself worked and drove every day, earning enough for them to live comfortably.
