Since Aitana insisted on meeting his grandmother, there was no point in hiding it. She would find out sooner or later anyway. His grandmother was far too sharp to be fooled for long.
Honestly, Alex thought, Rowan could learn a thing or two from Grandma. Unlike Rowan, who just mumbled to himself and assumed Wordisk Garden was great, Grandma could sense when something didn’t add up.
Aitana smiled lightly. “Your grandmother can’t be as scary as you make her sound. I saw her from a distance last time—she looked really kind.”
Alex chuckled. “Oh, she’s kind all right. But she’s also like a little kid. You know how people get when they’re older—they act just like children sometimes.”
Aitana laughed. “That’s true.”
