“Are you free this afternoon?” River asked.
Romina glanced at him and replied, “Is something wrong? You know how our work is—there’s hardly a day off, not even on weekends. I usually end up working overtime. But if you need me, I can make time.”
River was the only person she was willing to make time for.
River smiled. “Not for work. My parents and some of my elders are flying into Eaglioncile around three this afternoon. I thought maybe we could go to the airport together to pick them up.”
Romina froze for a moment. “They’re coming already?”
River nodded. “Since the proposal went well, it’s only natural for my parents to come and discuss our wedding arrangements with your family.”
Romina had heard him mention that he’d inform his parents, but she hadn’t expected her future in-laws to arrive so quickly.
