Landen looked at Jennifer and sighed inwardly.
Was Jennifer truly unaware, or was she just pretending not to understand?
He didn’t say it out loud.
“Marriage? That’s still a long way off. Let’s talk about it after I’ve taken my revenge,” Landen said. He sat up straight and stopped leaning against her.
Jennifer replied, “Most of the people who knew about or participated in what happened back then are already dead. The few who are still alive keep their mouths tightly shut. More than thirty years have passed—it’s extremely difficult to gather evidence now.”
Landen looked troubled. “Why didn’t Uncle Alijah and the others help me collect any evidence?”
Jennifer said calmly, “Your grandfather was older than them. They helped raise him and taught him many things. They had already shown him great kindness.”
