Levi blinked. “Really? Then why didn’t Sister wait until my vacation before going to Uncle Tatum’s house?”
Baby crouched slightly so they were eye level. “Your sister went ahead to help tidy up your room. She’s also checking out fun places so we can take you when you get there. She didn’t go early because she doesn’t like you. Our little Levi is the cutest—who wouldn’t like you? We all love you. And if you don’t cry, we’ll love you even more.”
Levi quickly rubbed his eyes. “Brother, I won’t cry. I’ll be good. Sister said if I cry, she won’t take me to Uncle Tatum’s house.”
“Exactly,” Baby said with a smile. “So little Levi has to stay happy. You look best when you’re smiling. I love seeing you smile.”
“I’ll smile! I’ll smile every day!” Levi declared. Then he looked up suspiciously. “Brother, are you going out?”
Baby set him down. “I’m heading to the hotel to pick up Cousin Sonny. He’s coming over for dinner today, along with two important guests.”
“I want to go with you!” Levi said immediately. “I haven’t seen Cousin Sonny in a long time.”
