“Miss Winnie, do you drink?” Sonny asked. “I didn’t invite you to drink earlier. I thought you were getting on in years and shouldn’t drink too much… so I didn’t consider your feelings properly.”
Winnie waved it off. “We won’t drink today. This meal is enough. Honestly, I have to drink at business dinners all the time, and I actually hate drinking.”
They were here to discuss cooperation and sign contracts—drinking was inappropriate.
Alcohol could easily lead to mistakes.
Sonny smiled. “Finally, I’ve found someone like-minded. I don’t like drinking at the dinner table either, but business dinners make it unavoidable.”
Then he asked smoothly, “Miss Winnie, do you have any objections to the cooperation between our two companies?”
“There’s still a small issue,” Winnie replied. “Let’s talk about it after dinner. Once that’s resolved, we can sign the contract.”
