“Trenton, are you here to pick up Cairo?” Alex asked.
Trenton nodded. “I was away on a business trip for a while and just got back today. I missed Cairo, so I wanted to pick him up myself. I called my sister, and she said you were coming to get him.”
“I thought I’d try my luck and see if I’d run into you here.”
Trenton adored his nephew.
“No wonder I haven’t seen you lately,” Alex said. “So you were on a business trip. My second brother asked me to pick Cairo up. If I’d known you were free, I would’ve had you come get the pickup card.”
Trenton laughed. “I just came straight from the airport. It was a last-minute decision.”
The two of them waited together at the gate.
