There was really no need for Aitana to explain to Mrs. Legare where she was going.
But Mrs. Legare still felt awkward. In her mind, a “male friend” was simply a future boyfriend.
Aitana’s short answer basically told them she and the young master of the York family were at least on friendly terms—and might become more.
“Uncle, Aunt, we’ll be heading out now,” Aitana said politely.
She never enjoyed dealing with Mrs. Legare. Ever since that unreasonable request years ago, Aitana’s impression of her had been less than favorable. Still, because Mrs. Legare was Joaquin’s mother, she gave him some respect and continued greeting his parents whenever she saw them.
“Oh, alright,” Mrs. Legare replied.
Aitana nodded once more to Yehua, then followed Alex toward his Maybach.
