“You seem awfully happy that your patient’s being discharged. Was he difficult?” Carlos asked, glancing at his sister.
“He wasn’t difficult at all,” Aitana said. “His injuries weren’t serious. He could’ve been discharged after just two days of observation, but he insisted on staying for ten days—half a month, maybe even longer.”
“Why?” Carlos asked.
“He said he wanted to rest. Once he’s out of the hospital, he’ll have a ton of work to do and no time to recover. In the hospital, everyone knows he’s injured, so no one bothers him with work matters. By the way,” Aitana added, “he’s the eighth young master of the York family.”
Carlos’s eyes flickered at the name. A thought flashed through his mind. “The eighth young master of the York family? How do you know that?”
“The director told me,” Aitana replied. “He’s an old classmate of Dad’s—he wouldn’t lie to me. And after spending time with Alex, it all added up. He really is the eighth young master of the York family.”
Carlos exhaled softly.
