“Brother, take that invitation back,” Alex said firmly. “I’m not going to Miss Kong’s birthday party.”
Kevin picked up the invitation without protest. “It’s really inconvenient for you to go. I’ll hand it to Rowan and have him show up instead—just so the York family is represented.”
Alex nodded quickly. Rowan didn’t have a partner yet, which made him the most suitable choice to attend.
Rowan, however, was less than thrilled. I don’t even like sister-brother relationships! he grumbled inwardly. My older brothers are such bullies—skipping the party and shoving it onto me just because I’m the youngest.
After chatting a little longer, Kevin left Alex’s hospital room.
