“Dr. Pollock’s family isn’t bad either,” Alex countered. “They’re all doctors—parents, grandparents, the whole line. Very well-respected in the medical field. That makes them a good match for us.”
While the Pollock family didn’t hold the wealth or influence of the Yorks, Alex didn’t care. If he liked her, she was the right match.
Kevin grinned. “The problem is, you haven’t even confessed yet. At this rate, when are you going to win her over? And don’t forget—she already has two admirers. One works in the same hospital as her, the other runs his own clinic. Both are colleagues. One’s her senior, the other her classmate.”
Compared to the women in the York family, Aitana Pollock wasn’t stunning—more delicate than dazzling. To ordinary people, though, she’d be considered very pretty.
Her family background, too, carried weight. For her peers, it was enviable. After all, everyone gets sick eventually. Having a doctor in the family made life easier.
Naturally, Aitana was popular. Since her last relationship ended, though, she hadn’t been eager for love. She threw herself into her work instead.
Alex, however, was unfazed. “Even if she’s got ten or twenty admirers, once I step in, the rest will have to back off. I’m confident I can win her.”
