River was Rosella’s youngest son.
Though Alex and Rowan were still single, they were her nephews, not her own children. Their future was Madisyn’s concern—the Third Madam of the York family.
“Romina actually wanted to come home with me during the National Day holiday,” River explained. “But I told her our family would all be together then, with the kids around, and since Romina loves children, she decided to wait and come later instead.”
Rosella smiled approvingly.
“That was a good change. It’s even better this way. She’ll have more time with everyone, and it’ll help her bond with the nieces and nephews.”
She then asked, “Romina’s parents visited us and stayed for two days. How did they treat you when you went to see them?”
River grinned.
“Mom, relax. Your son is outstanding—plenty of parents would be thrilled to have me as their son-in-law. Uncle and Auntie Lafayette both like me, and even Grandpa Lafayette is fond of me.”
Rosella burst out laughing.
“Of course they like you. My son is so excellent—how could they not? And Romina is outstanding herself. I already adore her. I can’t wait to meet her properly. If you don’t bring her home soon, your father and I might just pack up and live in Eaglioncile for a while.”
