“How could I introduce you to a girlfriend? All the rich girls we know are already taken. Most of them our age are married with kids. The few who aren’t married already have boyfriends. What do you expect me to do—break them up just so I can introduce you? If you’re acting in a role, you can always find a girl to play along with you.”
Maddox raised a brow.
“What if the fake relationship turns into something real?”
“Then get married,” Romina said casually. “When you find someone to act with, just make sure you know her character first. As long as she’s a good person, it’s not such a bad thing if the fake relationship becomes real. Maddox, that’s how it is. Look at me—my grandfather worried himself sick when I was still single.”
Now that Romina was in love with River, her family kept urging her to marry quickly. And once she married, they’d urge her to have children. She couldn’t help but wonder—when she did have kids and they grew up, would she become like her parents, constantly pressuring them in turn?
Maddox asked, “So when are you two having the wedding banquet? Tell River I want to be the best man. Let me share your happiness—and maybe end my single life soon.”

“Alright, when River and I get married, you’ll definitely be the best man. As for bridesmaids, I haven’t decided yet.”
She had a few close friends, but most were married and couldn’t be bridesmaids. If she couldn’t find any, she could always hire professional bridesmaids—or even recruit a few female employees from her company.
