Kevin watched Zachary and Serenity disappear down the hall before turning back. Just then, his phone buzzed. Hayden.
He glanced at the caller ID, then walked to the end of the corridor where it was quiet before answering.
“Kevin, did you go out? The boys are asking where Daddy is—they’re looking for you,” Hayden said.
Kevin chuckled. “Yeah, I stepped out for something urgent. They’ve got so many friends to play with, and they’re still looking for me?”
Hayden sighed. “I just reminded them they have a dad, so they started asking. And now you’re out again. When are we going back to Jensburg? The boys can stay with Grandma.”
She couldn’t wait to get back to work.
