Alex groaned but gave in. “Fine. But tell the doctor no meds and no shots. I hate them.”
Once they wheeled him into the ER, doctors and nurses got to work. His injuries weren’t severe. They cleaned his wounds and admitted him for further tests—some would have to wait until the next day.
Alex thought the whole thing was unnecessary. His brother’s insistence kept him here. Still, it would feel like torture if they started poking him with needles for nothing. He wasn’t bedridden, after all.
