Abby and Elora had no plans for a second child either. As soon as Grandma started nudging them, they too slipped away with excuses.
In less than two minutes, only the old lady and the butler remained in the hall.
The old lady chuckled. “Look at them—mention a second child and they all scatter.”
“I’ve got six granddaughters-in-law, and only Seren has had a second child. That gave me a great-granddaughter. I thought once Belle arrived, the others might follow suit. I’m not asking for much—just three or four great-granddaughters. That’s all.”
The butler smiled. “Madam, the young ladies are all busy with work. If they want kids, they will have them eventually. If not, well, it’s their choice. Look how noisy the house is with everyone back—they’re probably afraid of that chaos. Young people value their quiet time together.”
The relationships among the young couples were all strong—they enjoyed their privacy and couple time.
The butler added, “Still, you have Miss Belle. That’s already a blessing. Remember, in previous generations, there were no girls.”
