“And how do you know Trenton didn’t try to argue your case? You weren’t there. Did he say anything else afterward?”
Nancy replied, “He apologized for not being able to take me and said he wanted to make it up by treating me to dinner.”
Her best friend responded, “Then I think there’s still hope! Don’t give up now. You’ve liked him for years—can you really let it all go without even trying? Think about it: you’ve been by his side the longest. He may have other classmates, even me—but he doesn’t treat any of us the way he treats you.”
