Serenity laughed. “You’ve got to let me at least come inside, sit down, and have a glass of water first.”

River chuckled awkwardly and quickly led his sister-in-law into the house.

Once they were inside, he hurried to pour a glass of warm water and handed it to her with care. “Here, Sister-in-law. Please have some water.”

Serenity took the glass, drank half, and then set it down before speaking. “Romina mostly wanted to know about your family. I didn’t tell her the whole truth—that you’re the seventh young master of the York family. I figured that’s something you should decide whether to share or not. I don’t know if you planned to hide your identity like your eldest brother once did.”

“I just told her you have three brothers and that you’re the third among them. Technically, there are nine of you in your generation, and you’re the seventh. I also told her that our family has strong values, but that’s it. You should think about it. Whether you want to tell her or not—it’s your call.”

River replied, “I’m not trying to hide who I am. After what happened with my eldest brother, we all learned our lesson. My sister-in-law was furious when she found out the truth, and it almost ended in divorce. None of us want to repeat that.”
