“River,” Serenity teased, “stop staring. She’s long gone—you won’t see her now.”
River snapped out of it and cleared his throat. When he noticed he’d finished all his snacks, he said, “Sister-in-law, I’ll take you to my place. You can send the location to the bodyguards—they can take a cab straight to the house. Or, if you’d rather, we can check into a hotel.”
Serenity felt that staying in River’s house might disturb him. The kids could be loud, and besides, he wasn’t married.
