“We went home to rest last night, but she still hadn’t returned. She leaves early and comes back late every day—busier than we ever were when we were young. We live under the same roof, yet we barely see her.”
“I got up early today just to wait for her. Otherwise, I might not have seen her at all. She’s our only daughter. We wanted to spoil her, let her live freely, as long as she was happy and healthy. But she insisted on taking responsibility and stepping forward. It breaks my heart, and I can’t stop her.”
“She’s always been stronger than us,” Jane said softly. “She’s had that big-sister presence since childhood.”
Her words were filled with love—and unmistakable pride.
