Serenity chatted with her daughter for nearly half an hour. Zachary, a little jealous, chimed in, “Wife, you’ve been talking to our daughter longer than I did. I’m going to say you’re playing favorites.”
Serenity gently pushed him aside and smiled at her daughter. “Belle, you should get some rest. Mom’s hanging up now. Your dad is getting more and more childish as he gets older.”
Belle laughed. “Dad just can’t stand seeing Mom being close to us. He wants her to think about him twenty-four seven.”
Exposed by his daughter, Zachary replied matter-of-factly, “Your mom is the one I’ll spend my whole life with. Of course I want her thinking about me twenty-four seven. Alright, stop chatting and go get some rest.”
Belle wanted to say it was still early, but she ultimately hung up reluctantly.
Meanwhile, Titus didn’t return to his home in Havenmill until ten p.m.
His villa was massive, with a garden-style courtyard. He liked the scenery of FC Manor, so his residence was designed in the same style—beautiful, but requiring constant maintenance.
