“Yes, Mom loves my older sister more,” Fabian complained indignantly. “It’s because I’m not a girl. Mom and Dad made me a boy.”
Avah quietly went to get some tissues and carefully wiped her cousin’s sweat herself. “Sister will help you.”
Fabian grinned from ear to ear. “Thank you, Sister. You’re the one who loves me the most. I love my sister the most too. Come on, Sister, let’s go eat. After lunch, we’re going fruit picking. Baby said we’re picking fruit this afternoon.”
He grabbed Avah’s arm and was about to run off, but Avah tugged him back. He immediately understood and slowed down, walking properly so his mother wouldn’t scold him for running around again.
Everyone enjoyed a lively and cheerful lunch.
After the meal, Alex said he would take Aitana for a walk and then drive her down the mountain.
Aitana was in an exceptionally good mood. Along the way, she kept talking excitedly about how kind Lilian had been to her.
