The uncle and nephew chatted nonstop during the drive. Alex spoke occasionally, but he stayed focused on the road.
As they approached the Newman family villa, Cairo suddenly said, “Uncle Trenton, I’m going to have an eighth aunt soon.”
“Oh?” Trenton responded casually. “Didn’t you already get a seventh aunt? Your Uncle River just got married.”
A moment later, realization hit. Trenton turned to Alex with a grin. “Alex, you have someone? When did this happen? I haven’t heard anything about you dating. Don’t tell me you rushed into a whirlwind romance like your older brother.”
“I do have someone I like,” Alex admitted. “I haven’t won her over yet, but she won’t escape me. She’ll be my wife sooner or later. Cairo’s already met her. Kids are sharp—once we bring a woman home, they know she’s an aunt.”
