Estrella added gently, “Don’t worry. You’re my niece—I won’t sell you out. The York family is genuinely good. That’s why I support you. If they were just putting on a show, I’d stop you immediately. I’d never let you jump into a fire pit.”
Just like with the Legare family, Estrella had always stepped in when needed.
The younger cousin nodded earnestly. “Sis, I like Brother Alex and his family too. I stayed at his house for half a day, and I never felt uncomfortable—not even once. And that was my first time ever stepping into such a luxurious place. That says a lot. Their kindness isn’t superficial.”
Aitana laughed helplessly. “The two of you really sound like you’re trying to sell me off.”
She paused, then smiled. “Alright. Alex and I will let things take their course. Let’s consider it giving ourselves a chance.”
She wasn’t stupid.
Alex kept appearing around her, treating her exceptionally well—giving her gifts, helping her out, and even arranging for her to meet his family. Every member of the York family had been warm and welcoming toward her.
