Joaquin nodded politely to Aunt Pollock, then cast a deep look at Aitana before following Alex out. He had driven as well, so the two men headed separately to the coffee shop.
Aunt Pollock and Aitana stepped outside, watching the two cars pull away. Aunt Pollock said, “They’re going to a coffee shop. At most they’ll exchange a few words—they won’t fight.”
“Neither Senior Joaquin nor Alex is the type to start a fight,” Aitana agreed. That wasn’t what worried her.
She just felt bad for Alex. Ever since she and Alex had grown a little closer, Joaquin had started treating Alex like a romantic rival, constantly causing him trouble.
