“A man who marries Belle will need nerves of steel,” Zachary muttered. “Imagine facing more than a dozen brothers-in-law, and then all the older York boys who treat her like a sister. If Belle cries even once, twenty or thirty men would show up ready to protect her. One roar from her and her husband would probably collapse.”
He shook his head dramatically. “If she marries out, at least he gets some distance. But if he becomes our live-in son-in-law? He’ll be surrounded by brothers-in-law every day. And uncles. The poor guy might not survive the stress.”
Serenity burst into laughter. “Our future son-in-law is going to be under so much pressure, he might die young.”
Zachary: “…”
So… his daughter was the dangerous one in the marriage scenario?
He suddenly wondered if he should start scouting candidates early—find a strong kid, train him young, raise him to worship Belle…
But before the idea could take shape, Serenity shut it down instantly.
