She didn’t love Joaquin, but she still respected him. They had known each other for years, and she didn’t want him to be crushed professionally because of a personal matter.

Alex chuckled softly. “Relax. I’m not that petty. I won’t bully him. He’s just jealous. You treat me well, and he can’t stand it. That’s all.”
Aitana’s lips curved in a light smile. “I know you’re not that kind of person. I was just being overly cautious.”
Alex tilted his head slightly. “You’re still kind to him, though.”
