“Seren, it’s almost five. You’re still drinking coffee?” Mrs. Bucham asked with a smile. “Aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to sleep tonight?”
Serenity laughed softly. “I’m used to it. Coffee doesn’t affect my sleep anymore. Even if I drink it late, I still fall asleep fine.”
Her tone turned a bit more serious. “If Jasmine really is pregnant, make sure she rests. She doesn’t need to rush back to the company. Elisa and I can handle things. If she gets bored, she can just manage the bookstore like before.”
Jasmine often helped run their bookstore.
Serenity had become increasingly busy as her companies grew. She and Elisa had expanded into several new ventures, and business was booming.
Unlike them, Jasmine didn’t have the same drive for ambition. She worked when she felt like it but never pushed herself too hard. Coming from a comfortable family, she’d never faced the kind of pressure Serenity had—and marrying Josh only made her life easier.
Running the bookstore suited her perfectly—it kept her busy without being stressful.
