“I hope Enzo and Avah are enjoying themselves at Wildridge Manor. I haven’t seen them in ages,” Sariyah said with a laugh. Without waiting for River’s reply, she added, “Jane had planned to take the kids to her parents’ place as soon as summer started, but Titus and your eldest sister-in-law’s nephew—what’s his name? Sonny?”
River nodded.
“They’ve made plans to meet, so Titus wanted to go to Wildridge Manor first,” Sariyah continued. “Jane always respects the kids’ wishes, so she let them.”
River offered an apologetic smile. “I haven’t been home much—mostly stuck in Eaglioncile for work. I only make it back during holidays. But the kids should be having a blast. All six of my brothers brought their kids home. Wildridge is liveliest in the summer and winter breaks.”
“Thank goodness Old Madam York doesn’t mind all the noise,” Sariyah said, shaking her head. “If it were me, I couldn’t handle it. My own kid is loud enough to make me want to toss him out.”
River laughed. “Grandma loves a lively house.”
“How’s she doing?” Sariyah asked. Through her sister-in-law Jane, she knew plenty about the York family.
