The family of four stepped out of the residential complex.
Serenity spotted them and honked lightly to get their attention. Then she opened the door and stepped out of her car. No matter how complicated her feelings toward the Browns were, they were still elders. Politeness came first.
“Aunt!” Sonny’s face lit up. No matter how mature he acted around others, with Serenity, he was still a little boy. He ran straight to her.
He’d grown so much that Serenity couldn’t lift him anymore. But every time they met, Sonny never failed to act spoiled for a moment.
“It hasn’t even been that long, and you miss your aunt this much?” Serenity teased, gently tapping his forehead. “You’re getting so big—you’ll be taller than me soon.”
“Even if I’m taller,” Sonny said seriously, “you’ll always be my aunt.”
Serenity smiled. “That’s right. Aunt and nephew for life.”
