Hayden burst out laughing. “Don’t tell me Alex fell for that doctor at first sight! This really is fate. We’ve been trying to set him up on blind dates for ages, and he never cared. Now here comes destiny, and boom—he’s hooked without any effort on our part.”
“Exactly,” Kevin said. “When fate shows up, you can’t fight it. I just don’t know what this Dr. Pollock is like—her personality, her background. We’re not obsessed with status, but it can’t be too ordinary either.
If she’s from a completely simple background, marrying into our family will crush her under pressure.”
All seven of their sisters-in-law had strong family backgrounds. If the eighth one didn’t, the weight of expectations would be enormous.
Hayden shrugged. “She’s a doctor. Doctors save lives—that says a lot. And if her family could afford medical school, they’re probably doing okay. That stuff’s secondary anyway. What really matters is if she’s single.”
If Dr. Pollock already had a boyfriend, things could get messy.
Would Alex even go there? No way. York men didn’t poach. There were plenty of amazing women in the world. No reason to play homewrecker.
